About Alicia
I returned to Tobago in 2009 with a motive of seeing local business thrive. My first stint as a distributor was with a hair product I imported. It was totally new to this region and I was braced with the honor of introducing it. Within two years I distributed this brand to over 50 retail locations across T&T. My success caught the attention of local producers. My rapid pace of marketing and successfully gaining product entry into retailers was the desire of many local product creators as well.
Local manufacturers sought me out and soon I added three local Tobago brands. I got their products unto the shelves of Supermarkets such as Massy Stores (then Hi-Lo), Tru Valu, Ramish & Leela among others. I further added drugstores, shops and other gourmet retailers to my retail distribution list.
Later, in 2014 I launched the Phillips Caribbean Marketing Packaging Supplies store. The store is the first full-scale packaging supplies store on the island of Tobago specially catering to manufacturers. It was borne out numerous complaints of producers. They continued to run into the snag of not accessing packaging supplies they needed. The situation often led to delays in fulfilling orders. We continue to provide a wide array of packaging and equipment for product makers. Our satisfied customers have rated us #1 in our packaging options, quality and service.
Throughout, I noticed a consistent thread that almost guarantees the success of a product creator. They need to not only properly craft their product offering but also develop it in ways that meet legal requirements and facilitate entry into profitable markets. Unfortunately, I can tell you of many stories where people lost time and money because they did not know the steps to get to the shelf. Others threw the steps together in the wrong order and paid dearly. They incurred lots of losses before they could build again towards having a profitable product. The great news is there’s a way to get to profitable markets quicker while avoiding the pain staking traps of product development.
Today, I’m excited to guide success-driven entrepreneurs. As a Product Development Coach I steer product makers on the correct path to seeing their dream product become a reality.
